–Children and teens – one-on-one play-based yoga, mindfulness and holistic psychotherapy
–Parent and child – play-based yoga, mindfulness and holistic psychotherapy
Gentle, flowing yoga and breathing to create space for being present, connect mind and body, and explore self-empowerment through the wisdom of the heart. I bring a deep respect for the ancient yoga tradition and the practice of mindfulness, with a sense of fun, inspiration and a collaborative, down-to-earth approach.
Taught in the Dru Yoga style which is graceful yet powerful – my classes are meditative and heart-based, offering space to land in your body, connect mind, body and spirit, and focus on what’s truly important to you.
These inclusive classes welcome those new to yoga, as well as those wishing to deepen their practice through working with energy flow, emotions, self-enquiry, self-compassion, spirituality and a sense of meaning. A sitting mindfulness practice is incorporated into each class, while a full guided relaxation to end the class offers an opportunity to rest, settle and support nervous-system regulation.
This class holds room for your unique internal experience and encourages you to meet yourself exactly where you are. Genuine choices and options are offered for all students including those navigating injuries, diverse health conditions, anxiety and depression. I teach yoga and mindfulness with a trauma-informed lens, creating space for choice, self-awareness and grounding.
As my journey with yoga has grown alongside of my journey of motherhood, I continue to see my children as my greatest teachers. They remind me to practice being present and to be aware of other’s needs, as well as the importance of finding ways to meet one’s own needs. They help me remember to dream, and to believe.
In 2012, I began working with children, sharing yoga in a play-based way and supporting them to explore movement, breath, emotions, relaxation and building a sense of togetherness amongst the group.
Having my own children opened me to the worlds of children and sparked a passion to support children to remember their own worth, develop valuable life skills and feel empowered to be their authentic selves.
These nurturing sessions offer a welcoming, carefully held space for children and teens to explore movement, breath, emotions, and connection with themselves and with each other. This creates space to discover a sense of calm, build confidence, develop self-awareness and self-belief, and feel empowered to be their authentic selves.
I teach yoga through creative and playful movement, drawing on the individual and group creativity of students to create an atmosphere of togetherness, kindness, respect and inclusiveness. Keeping classes fun encourages engagement and enjoyment, and I teach with a focus on seeing the gold in everyone.
The mindfulness practices and guided relaxation are the quieter parts within each class, offering opportunities for students to develop concentration, self-awareness, emotional-regulation and breathing and relaxation skills. At times, these moments we share can be deeply peaceful.
However, always being calm is not necessarily the aim. I welcome all emotions and create a space guided by curiosity and compassion, rather than shame. There is space to express feelings, release energy and explore healthy ways of being with our emotions, alongside practices that support settling and calm. My teaching is informed by nervous system awareness and emotional care, with kindness, encouragement and genuine choice at the heart of my approach.
I love to share with families some yoga and mindfulness practices that can be woven into the parenting journey. These sessions are about fun, connection and playfulness, breathing and peaceful moments, rather than flexibility, strength or fitness. They’re a wonderful opportunity for parents who already love yoga to share the experience of yoga with their child, or for families who are curious about how their children might enjoy or benefit from yoga and mindfulness.
